Murray's Fly Fishing Classes

Beginner Course

If you are just starting out in fly fishing, or have never fly fish before, this course is for you.

Murray's Fly Fishing Beginner course is an all day class. The class consists of seminar instruction, casting and fishing sessions.

The classes are kept small, up to 12 students with 4 instructors.

You will learn:

  • How to select fly fishing equipment;
  • How to tie the fly fishing knots;
  • Fly fishing theories and principles;
  • Casting;
  • How to select flies for the seasons and various fishing areas;
  • How to catch and release a fish on a fly rod.

By the end of the day, you will have gained confidence in fly fishing and catching fish. You will understand all the basics of fly fishing. You will be able to cast a fly rod and catch a fish.

In fact, you are guaranteed to catch a fish at Murray's Fly Fishing School!

We provide you with the fly fishing equipment for the duration of the class. Throughout the day, you will be able to try and compare equipment of various quality, from inexpensive to high-end top quality. You will receive a course booklet. We will provide you with beverages and lunch. You catch your own lunch, a BBQ trout!

Our fly fishing courses are held at Primrose Trout Farm, one of the largest sport fishing facilities in Ontario, with seven fish ponds. You do not need a fishing license to take a lesson with Murray's Fly Fishing School.

Price:

  • Only $175 plus taxes.
  • We offer a $20 discount for Seniors (65+) and a 50% discount for children accompanied by an adult.

Casting (Intermediate) Course

If you are an experienced fly fisher who wishes to improve your casting skills, this course is for you.

The Casting (Intermediate) course is an all day class. A FFF Certified casting instructors will work with you to improve your casting skills. You have the option to attend the seminar and to work one-on-one with an instruction on your casting. Or to solely focus on enhancing your casting skills for the duration of the day, and catch & release fish.

We provide you with the fly fishing equipment for the duration of the class, or you can bring your own equipment. We will provide you with beverages and lunch. You catch your own lunch, a BBQ trout!

Our fly fishing lessons are held at Primrose Trout Farm, one of the largest sport fishing facilities in Ontario, with seven fish ponds.

This course has lots of one-on-one instruction with certified casting professionals.

Price:

  • Only $175 plus GST.
  • We offer a $20 discount for Seniors (65+) and a 50% discount for children accompanied by an adult.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are available upon request.

For your convenience, we customize our private lessons to your needs. These classes can be held at Primrose's Trout Farm, into small streams on the Credit River system, or out on many of the rivers in southern Ontario.
